A Look at Visitor Shopping Statistics in Orlando

Orlando is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. Every year, millions of people visit this popular city to check out its many attractions, such as theme parks and world-famous food truck parks such as World Food Trucks located in Kissimmee, FL. As a result, it's no surprise that shopping is one of the main activities for visitors to Orlando. To better understand the visitor spending patterns, let’s take a look at some recent statistics about shopping in Orlando.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

According to recent research from the University of Central Florida, visitors to Orlando spend an average of $184 per day on retail purchases while they are visiting. This number is significantly higher than the national average of $132 per day spent by domestic tourists on retail purchases across all states and regions. In addition, almost half (49%) of all visitors surveyed said they planned to shop during their trip to Orlando.

When it comes to where visitors choose to shop when they visit Orlando, flea markets are particularly popular destinations. Of those surveyed who said they were planning on shopping during their stay, over two-thirds (67%) said they would visit a flea market while in town. Flea markets provide visitors with an opportunity to purchase unique items at discounted prices and participate in a quintessential Florida experience - something that cannot be found anywhere else!

Visitors also noted that convenience was a key factor when making their purchasing decisions. Over half (53%) reported that being able to find multiple shops and stores close together was important when choosing where to shop during their visit. This indicates that accessibility plays an important role in determining where shoppers make their purchases - after all, time is money!

Shopping is one of the main activities for visitors traveling to Orlando each year. With high daily spending averages and convenient access to multiple stores and shops close together, it’s no wonder why so many people flock here for retail therapy! Whether you’re looking for bargains at a flea market or searching for something special at your favorite boutique store, there are plenty of opportunities available for travelers seeking shopping options in the City Beautiful.
